When updating AVG virus scan, they installed Chrome which I didn't want. I have been ignoring Chrome and just letting it be and now I am hearing about this Chrome zero-day attacks. I have Windows 7 professional, 64 bit, internet explorer 11, running on a Dell latitude E6410 laptop. I want to delete Chrome, hopefully to take care of this Chrome zero-day attacks. If I uninstall Chrome, will my google (not Chrome bookmarks as I have never used Chrome) bookmarks be left in tack. I don't want to delete my google bookmarks.

And are there any secrets to uninstalling Chrome besides going to programs and deleting it there?

    Thank you

I never delete anything through program on Windows.

Use Revo uninstaller. It uses the programs own uninstaller, if it is still avaialble then combs through the registry and indicates what can be removed from there.

I'm not sure what you mean by "google bookmarks". Google is a search engine and as such has no bookmarks.
What browser do you use? (Firefox, Internet Explorer, Opera or something else).

I am using Internet Explorer 11 and I have favorites there, but those are limited to my laptop.

Google Bookmarks is a free online bookmarking service, available to Google Account holders. It is completely separate from browser-based bookmarking and should not be confused with the Bookmarks function on any popular browser, Google Chrome included.

It is some what of a pain to use. You have to go to their website and click on add bookmark and add all the information to fill out a box to add them. But the bookmarks are available on any computer you use and I have added hundreds of them. I think I have read they are stored in the cloud. I don't think they will be deleted if I uninstall Chrome, but I can't find anything definitively that tells me that. It always brings up Chrome bookmarks which would be deleted and that is not what I am talking about. But they are both Google products which makes me pause.

Sorry, I was not aware of Google's bookmark service. Probably because I store very little "in the cloud". If I learned of it, I'd probably promptly forgot about it.

I'll do some searching now that I know what I'm looking for.

That says to me, it is safe to uninstall any browser and you will still have your google bookmarks.
