I want to get rid of Microsofts software; infocard! I don't use it at all, but it keeps using RAM. I want to get rid of it for good.

Can anyone tell me how? :)

    What is infocard.exe?

infocard.exe is the Windows CardSpace service. For more information about Windows Cardspace, see http://cardspace.netfx3.com/

Why do I have to have it?

You have it because you probably installed .NET Framework 3.0 or 3.5. .NET Framework 3.0 also comes with Windows Vista and .NET Framework 3.5 comes with the latest version of Visual Studio.

Can I just remove the damned thing?

You can go into Services (services.msc), locate Windows CardSpace, and set startup type to: disabled. However, to remove it, you'll need to uninstall .NET Framework 3.x.
