are the folders under uninstall information needed? i found them while cleaning up the explorer. i also stumbled upon (i do alot of stumbling) in the system information of windows, there are about 40 drivers for my printer installed. can i delete all of them as they seem to be taking up alot of space relative to my h/d size.

There are hundreds of threads here started by people who were just "cleaning up" their hard drives. Unless you're very low on disk space and have no money for a new drive, don't delete uninstall information or folders. How do you know there are 40 drivers for your one printer installed? I can't think of a single printer that has 40 drivers. Do you mean 40 files? If so, leave them alone. Your printer needs all of them.

It's not a big deal. People here post startup logs that are hundreds of lines long.

Those are all files that are part of your printer driver. You do not have 40 drivers installed. You have 40 files for one driver installed. Leave all of them where they are. If you delete any of them, you'll probably get errors when trying to use your printer.
