I was trying to Upgrade Windows95 to Windows98. The CD Rom malfunctioned
so now Windows 95 is corrupted. Windows95 will not come up. The desktop will not even appear. How can I uninstall Win95 and install using Dos. Also, how can I replace the CD-ROM with a corrupted Win95.

    First Name:
You'll need a Windows 98/98SE startup disk with the FORMAT.COM file copied to it. A Windows 95 startup disk doesn't have any CDROM drivers in it.

You'll also need a "full" version of the Windows 98/98SE CD. If you only have an "upgrade" version of the Windows 98/98SE CD, you'll also need a Windows 95 CD for confirmation of a previous operating system.

Once you have these items, you really should get someone who knows how to format a hard drive and install Windows from scratch do it for you.
