I am installing Orcas and I get - “Another installation is in progress”. I know no installations are going on or none were aborted. However, I remember manually uninstalling CA eTrust Internet Security Suite. Since then this problem has started. Whenever I had to install a new software, I’d start ProcessExplorer and kill the Windows Installer process. Then when I installed the software again, the installation steps were rolled back of previous install before proceeding with the new install.

But with Orcas, this seems to be happening in background. So the installation fails.

If I start ProcessExplorer and kill the Windows Installer process, and try installing again. It tells me "User SYSTEM has previously initiated an install for product CA Personal Firewall. That user will need to run that install again before they can use that product. Your current install will now continue.

I then click OK. It then gives me Error 1704 An installation of CA Personal firewall is currently suspended. You must undo the changes. Proceed? I click Y

It then tells me rolling back action.

It then installs the new s/w. This is fine. However, if I have to install any s/w that installs in background (like Visual Studio - Code Name "Orca"), it fails.
