Hello. Amidst all this news of vulnerabilities in java I've decided that I'm going to uninstall it from my computer since I never need it. I successfully uninstalled one of the versions of it, but when trying to uninstall the other (version 6 update 20) a user account control window pops up asking if I would like to allow a program from an unverified publisher to make changes to my computer. This did not happen when uninstalling the other version; its popup window said it was a verified publisher. I just thought that this was odd and was wondering if it's something I should be concerned about or if a should go ahead with the uninstall.

The name of the program in question is listed as C:\Windows\Installer\704356.msi. This is probably not a big deal but I'm being very cautious with everything on my computer as it's recently recovered from a nasty virus.

Also, I'm running Windows 7 64-bit in case that's relevant.

Thanks in advance for any help.

You must allow the uninstaller to run if you want to remove it.

It DOES need to ask you as it needs Admin permissions. But do restart after un-installing it.
