I have a situation where I had to remove my ethernet card and phone modem card because the computer would look to build a driver and the progress would stay at 0% forever. I had to remove the cards in order to get windows me to boot up. The manufacturer (a 2 person computer building company) said there are many problems with windows me on this computer and to reinstall it. It doesnt appear on my program list in add/install programs, and when i type in uninstall.exe at the run prompt, it goes thru the motions of unistalling and restarts the computer, but it doesnt uninstall. please help asap!! Thank you!!!

What operating system are you going to use after you uninstall ?

anyway here is the way to properly do it.

Start your computer with the Windows Me Startup disk that you created during Windows Me Setup. If you do not have a Windows Me Startup disk, you can use a Startup disk that was created on any other Windows Me-based computer.

At the Microsoft Windows Millennium Startup menu, choose the Minimal Boot option, and then press ENTER.

At the command prompt, type c: and then press ENTER.

Type cd windows\command and then press ENTER.

Type uninstal.exe and then press ENTER.

You receive several warning or confirmation prompts. For each prompt, press Y, and then press ENTER to continue. This process can take several minutes.
