    My question is...is that linux OS is same as Unix OS? is it the interface is same? I have use linux for almost 5 years. If I know using linux, if that possible that I also knowing on using Unix OS?

    Depends which Unix OS you are talking about. Alot of the commands are the same but most of them are not going to have the same GUI that Linux uses.

    But there are some Unix OS's that are just down right nasty. My buddy uses a unix variant made by Data General. Let me tell you it is nothing like Linux.

    UNIX is the trademarked name for an OS.

    LINUX is a kernel developed by Linus Torvolds.

    RED HAT , DEBIAN etc are all distributions of the linux kernel, If anything it be refferd to as OS it would have to be the distros. other wise its like getting an engine and calling it a car.
