Hi,
I have a HP laptop running Windows Me as its OS. I am using Netscape 6.1 and Internet Explorer 6 as my web browsers. My laptop's been working fine until recently, whenever I try to open up a web browser after I have connected to the Internet, I get a message that says "you are running an older version of this program. Please download the newest version." I know it's not a problem since I can still surf the Internet, but it's really disturbing to see everytime it comes up. I really want to get rid of it but I don't know how. At first, I thought it asked for a newer version of Netscape so I tried to download the newest version. It didn't work. I tried to remove Netscape but it also didn't work. I have no idea what 'program' this message refers to. Can anyone help? Thanks.

What versions do you have of each browser?

Have you got any other programs running when you open a browser? Yer problem doesn't sound like either netscape or I.E.
Have you got a "web enhancer" or Gozilla or any other kind of software that interacts with your browsers?
