I wonder if I have a virus? It seems IE is a virus. I have certain thing locking up on my system. Attached is a process detector.

I get a near lock up freeze at times with IE, and a Ctl+ALT+Del brings up the list of running programs, one of which is listed as <unknown>

    What is this

I don't see anything in the Scanlog or Process Explorer which is not normal or legitimate.

    Okay,

I just found that my Outlook Express won't open up. It says there is another instance of it running. I open up the procexp.exe and it doesn't list it running either, but I can't get to it.

I did the free Panda virus scan, and it came up with 11 infected files, but could only fix 8 of them, saying I was infected with something they could not fix. I don't know what it is, but It's on here doing strange things.

What are the names and locations of the files that cannot be "fixed"? Typically you would just want to delete them unless they were critical files in use, which is unlikely. If they are in the System Restore archive, that needs to be disabled, the computer rebooted, and then re-enabled to purge them from there. All restore points are purged in the process.

You may not want to do this if you think System Restore is an option for repair of the current problem.

Have you tried rebooting and opening OE?
