Unknown problem with printer driver

    I have an HP Envy 5055. My computer is a Dell desktop with Windows 7. The printer has stopped working, and when I used the HP diagnostic tool, it said there is a problem with the printer driver. It did not give me any information about the problem or how to fix it, and HP's web site is useless. Has anyone else had this problem? The printer was fine until now.

    Thank you. I finally was able to get in touch with HP support, and was told that the problem is a faulty USB cable. That would make sense, since I can't understand why the driver would suddenly stop working. I have to buy another cable.

    I bought a new USB cable, and it still doesn't work. In fact, when I tried to install the driver, the screen told me to hook up the USB cable even though it was already hooked up. Then when I tried to use the chat feature with HP again, all I got was a blank box. This is not the way to handle customer service.

    I didn't, but a tech support person from HP was finally able to do it after about an hour. I was just about to post that the problem was resolved.
