Unmountable Boot Volume Error

    I HAVE A NOTE BOOK THAT WILL NOT BOOT UP.I GET A BLUE SCREEN THAT SAYS UNMOUNTABLE BOOT VOLUME ERROR AND 0X000000ED. I HAVE MADE A SET OF BOOT DISKS AND HAVE MADE IT TO RECOVERY CONSOLE. WHAT PROMPT DO I USE TO REPAIR THE SYSTEM SO IT WILL REBOOT TO WINDOWS XP. THIS IS A COMPAQ 1700. IM LOST PLEASE HELP!
