I have a HP Photosmart C7280 All-in-One It won't print and am getting "out of ink" message. Tried another printer but still won't print. Help please.

Could one or more of the print cartridges actually be out of ink?

When you tried another printer, did it also give an out of ink error or was there some other problem?

If you tried 2 different printers with your computer and can't get either of them to print, it's my guess the problem is with your computer.

What's the description of your computer, and which Windows operating system is it running?

What's the description of the other printer?

It says the black cartridge is out of ink but it is almost full.

Yes. Many manufacturers are clamping down on the ability to use third party ink cartridges. It stinks as you're pretty much locked in to using their consumables with their pricey mark ups. This is why many of these printers are so cheap to buy but the manufacturer gets you on the back end when you have to buy ink cartridges. It's bad when it's almost more cost effective to throw away your printer when the ink is used up and buy a whole new printer. Some manufacturers are starting to be more eco responsible by making their consumables cheaper. I don't remember which manufacturer it is but a recent ad I saw showed the printer uses ink bottles that you fill into a reservoir. This not only lowers the cost of consumables but is more eco friendly.

When I look into buying a printer, I read reviews that discuss the overall cost of ownership and then do some research of my own to see what street prices are for buying the consumables.

The HP Photosmart C7280 All-In-One Printer was introduced in 2008.

The HP Photosmart C4680 All-In-One Printer was introduced in 2009.

Although both printers are several years old, they support Windows 10 64-bit and have a full-feature software driver package for them.
Has it been installed, or are you using the generic built-in Windows 10 drivers?

The Troubleshooting section for both printers may be helpful to you.

I have ordered an ink cartridge, and will see if that does the trick. Perhaps it is time to get another printer. I will try to find one that does not have exorbitant prices for the ink.

Did this and your other problem with GMail all start right after you reset the computer?

I re-read the entire thread and can't find anything about the computer being reset.
I must have missed something.
