    Hello again..

I recently had to do a fresh install of Windows XP Home.

I had previously downloaded a small program that allows me to remove MSN Messenger (works very well)

Before I had a chance to uninstall Messenger, my son had logged on. I have since uninstalled messenger, only to find out that apparently did not read all his mail.

I now have a message under my user log in that says "you have 6 unread messages". In the past this designated my unread messages from my outlook folder, but this is from the messages in his hotmail account that he did not read.

Doers anyone know of way to get rid of this message on my user? Will I have to reinstall messenger, have him read and/or delete his messages, and then uninstall again?

I myself do not use this program and would prefer it not to be running in the background or at start-up. That's why I deleted it.

Any help you can provide would be appreciated...........

What version of outlook are you using?? There should be a reference to your son's account in the setting Tools>Accounts>(or similar depending on version).. Just find his account and disable or delete it completly..

I'm using Outlook 6.0, but I think the "unread messages" the notation is referring to is from my son's hotmail.

His hotmail account gives him a qualifying .net account to be "allowed" to use MSN messenger. Just because you deleted MSN doesn't stop the hotmail account. Have him log-on to his e-mail account through hotmail.com, then read/delete them.
