I installed a programme called webcelerator and ever since,IE takes up to 10 mins to open up when I press the icon. Usually when it does ,after 10 mins or so it crashes. I've tried to uninstall this webcelerator programme but cannot do it. A box appears saying

Setup has caused an error in ADDLL.DLL. Setup will now close.

Can anyone help me with this?

Cubbycuddly.

Hi,

Try this:

First close down the program.
Now reinstall Webcelerator over itself.

Disable the program again , and end task on everything in Ctrl-alt-delete except Explorer and Systray.

Try uninstalling it again through Add/remove programs.

Good luck,

Wow, you do have a lot of spyware and unneccessary stuff, and it will for sure slow you down, and create conflicts.

Lets forgert about your uninstall problem, and concentrate first on removing the nasties here:

Go to Start/run, and type msconfig.
On the Startup tab, uncheck EVERYTHING, EXCEPT for the following items

StateMgr
LexmarkPrinTray
LexStart
LoadPowerProfile (2x0
PCCIOMON.EXE in 'Run'
PCCIOMON.EXE in 'RunServices'
PCHealth
pop3trap.exe
ScanRegistry
SchedulingAgent
SecondChance
StillImageMonitor
SystemTray
Yahoo!

Click OK, close Msconfig, and reboot (important!)

Now go to Software add/remove and remove New(dot)net application, Webhancer Agent, and Webcelerator.

Reboot AGAIN.

Download and install Ad-Aware . This is a program which scans your system for spyware.

After having downloaded AAW, also download the latest Signature file (Reflist.sig) : http://www.lavasoftusa.net/aaw/binary/reflist.zip
Unpack it to the Lavasoft Ad-Aware folder in Program Files, and have it overwrite the one that's there.

Then have your drives and registry scanned for spyware, check all found files and reg keys, click continue, and have them removed.
Reboot one last time.

Your computer will thank you for this, and you'll be amazed about how much more smoothly your system will run.

Good luck,

Hi Cubbycuddly, yep you have a lot of spyware on your computer, and some of the really nasty ones, plus you have to many programs starting at startup. Will take care of the spyware first.Go to Start>Run>type in Msconfig, click ok,click on startup tab, uncheck the foolowing programs

Msbb
newnet
onflow
savenow
webhancer
webcelerator
wnad

Click apply, then ok.The computer will want to reboot, let it.Now after it reboots go to Start>settings>control Panel >add and remove programs>highlight newnet, click remove, reboot the computer.Do the same thing webhancer, then webcelerator.

After that is done go to this site and download a program called Ad-aware5.6,This will scan your computer for spyware componnets,Once you download ad-aware,go back and download the newest signature file, and install that to the Ad-aware folder in programs. Now run the scan and make sure you check everything on the right side of the window pane is checked. If it finds some more spyware componnets, and it will just delete them.

After that come back here and will work on your startup programs

Hi again

Thanks, I've noticed an immediate improvement already (IE starts up straight away now). I have now used Ad-aware and deleted the files it found.

Anymore advice about the start-up would be most welcome!

You mean about what these items are exactly?

A good place to start would be the 'Startup Bible': startup_content (alphabetic index at the bottom)

Good luck,
