Can you take a screenshot of the 360 Total Security window and attach it to your post?

I must tell you that I am a novice regarding the computer. I don't know anything at all about proxy servers or push. I haven't got a 360 antivirus window. The computer itself seems to be running OK.

I have tried to take a screen shot with a snipping tool which came up as a little box with all sorts of instructions, but I didn't know how to do any of them sorry to be so dumb.

No problem.

For now, skip running the aforementioned Farbar Recovery Scan Tool fix.

===========================

Do you still have the same issue with 360 Antivirus as you mentioned in the original post?

I see that info utility has got a partial answer to my problem. I appear to have 360 Total Security which seems to be encroaching on my startup. A green and yellow dot has appeared in the bottom bar and sometimes popups for this appear on my desk top. How can I get rid of this, as it doesn't appear on my apps list.

before you posted about not using the farbar fix I did try the script you sent me. I tried the fix and nothing appeared to happen, however the computer seemed to seize up and I was unable to get on to the internet. After trying for some time, I thought I would try a recovery. This worked and all traces of 360 Total have disappeared from my machine, including the sysinfo. I don't know if everything is OK now. Perhaps you can enlighten me.

I have a folder on my desktop with all the apps that have been deleted during the recovery. Is there a simple way of restoring them?

I have been using the computer today and have noticed that the icon for Gmail doesn't work properly. I have to go through the firefox icon first. I also notice that my login for TSG and Beeping computer keeps having to log in every time I use it.

I now have another slight problem. When starting, the page that asks me for my password sometimes doesn't work and I have to have a couple of goes before I can get into the machine. I am giving you all this information in case it helps you to understand what is going on with it.

Hi Brigham

Let's take a look at the status of the system before starting troubleshooting for those issues.

Please do the following.

Download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your desktop.

Note: You need to run the version compatible with your system. If you are not sure which version applies to your system, download both of them and try to run them. Only one of them will run on your system, and that will be the right version.
  • Right-click FRST.exe/FRST64.exe then click "Run as administrator"
  • When the tool opens, click Yes to the disclaimer.
  • Press the Scan button.
  • When finished, it will produce logs called FRST.txt and Addition.txt in the same directory the tool was run from.
  • Please copy and paste the logs in your next reply.

I'm getting a message that there are too many characters to send. I have the logs in a notepad in the task bar.

Click on "attach files" below the text box and then navigate to the file on your computer to upload it.
