My computer just turns off on its own, for no reason. At first I thought it might be a loose connection, but I checked all of them. And also, when I restart it, it starts up normally, not doing its checks if it were shut down imporperly. Could this be a virus? It sometimes doesnt even let everything load onto my computer when i start it up before it just shuts off. very aggrevating!

    goto
    control panel>
    system>
    advanced tab>
    startup and recovery - settings>
under the title - system failure
    untick - automatically restart

    http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;320299

now when it crashes - it willnot restart and the blue screen should stay on the screen
post the info on the screen
it will give the errorcodes and a filename, if caused by a driver.

it may be worth seeing if overheating and if the CPU fan is running OK - perhaps theres an intermittent fault on the fan. or the fans are blocked with dust etc - you can get a can of air to blow the dust out

otherwise try running in safe mode - hit F8 as it boots and see if you can run a virus scan from there.
