Hi, We have windows 10 and office 2013. Every time we try to work in Word, it goes wonky. Tons of text appearing when you don't type it. Looks like copy/paste of random things typed. Additionally, the curser will randomly fly to the top. Sometimes, it flies to the top, and unwanted text appears. Strings of one letter. Periodically, it starts backspacing like mad. Unable to use this program now. PowerPoint is also affected. Do not know about Excel yet. We do not use Access or the other programs, so don't know about them. Please help! Have run Kaspersky, and it can't find anything.

Our computer is approximately 3 years old - is an HP all-in-one deal. touchscreen also. However, the touchscreen keyboard does not come up when the random text is being typed.

Have you tried a different keyboard? Symptoms match that of a stuck key or faulty keyboard.

had not tried that yet... we do not have a different keyboard, but our keyboard is wireless, so we checked the batteries, and they look like they need to be replaced - thanks for that tip. Haven't had time yet to know if this has fixed it. It appears to have been fixed, but that was a quick check, we'll find out tonight if that was the problem or not.

Perhaps a virus problem?
boy, i hope not. we did install trial version of kaspersky, and it found no issues - but maybe there's something it couldn't detect. maybe a bot or something? going to try on it tonight after work - see if the problem cleared up or not. we were most afraid of someone hacking into it. curious thing is that the only time problems show up is in office. not on the web or any other programs.

These are not really symptoms of a virus or someone hacking the computer.

Does this behavior happen in any other applications - non office related such as notepad, or whilst on the desktop?

curious thing was that it never happened on any non-office related applications!! However - switching out the batteries in our wireless keyboard has fixed it. It gave out one last brou-ha string of A's.... and then has been behaving nicely ever since.

Thanks so much everyone!!!
