:( I had my wife update her Toshiba notebook to the latest driver and now I can't connect to the internet. I can connect to my network and it shows connectivity....but I can't get to the internet. I'm posting this on my notebook so I know the internet, my modem, and router are fine. I've even rolled back to the old driver and it won't connect that way either. I've even tried to restore from the point of when it was installed and it won't work.

I am seriously at a loss. The notebook has the Atheros AR5006EG and the supposedly NEW driver is 7.3.1.42 and the old driver is something close to 7.1.something

And she's running Vista Home Pre. And not happy.

Why is it reading the network but not connecting me to the interent, even after I've tried to repair, etc...? Please help for my life!

Update: I have restored the system to before the driver update and it's still not working. I have temporarily given her a backup linksys wireless card and it's working.

I'm going to bed and hope that some of you can help. I'll post the IPConfig file tomorrow when I can.

    Thanks.

Do a system restore to before the update.

I did do a system restore, before the update. Then I restarted and connected back to the network after I verified that the original driver was on there. And it still doesn't work, even after I have gone in and basically reset my router (which wasn't the problem). Here is the ipconfig info:

It's odd that it appears to be connected in that IPCONFIG display.

I know. Why it won't recieve any packets from the router is boggling. It has to be something simple. It was working one minute, download update, and then no internet. And the fact that the computer is restored back before the update is even more frustrating.
