Now i'm using original version of windows 8.1 in my laptop, I want to update to windows 10. If i update with the media tool by the Microsoft, then there is any need to require a product key to activate windows 10. Is the OS will remain original or not? please help me to get a solution for this pleaseeee...

Do an disk image first. Use Macrium Reflect Free.

Then use the MS Media Creation Tool to generate a DVD/USB stick. If you want to keep your data files, just navigate to the media and run setup.exe . If you want a clean start, boot with the media and choose Custom Install, erase the boot and C partition and let it install onto the newly unallocated space.

The upgrade from 8.1 to 10 should still be on going, so you should not need to provide a product key, but you can type in the 8.1 product key and Win 10 should accept it.

If you don't have the win 8 key, then you just click 'i dont have a product key' in the windows installer.
