    Hello

Probably a very naive question but I'm wondering how I can update my BIOS (if an update appears) when my PC doesn't have a floppy (A:) drive? Most of the accounts I've read on the website for the motherboard (ASUSTek) are confusing and involve copying a file onto a floppy for reboot.

    Is there another (simpler) way?

    Thanks

Most new machines have updaters that run in Windows. If the file needs to installed from DOS, like a floppy, it can be installed from a bootable CD that boots into DOS, like the Win98 Boot CD Image that has had the BIOS files injected into its image.

Elvandil - thanks for the reply. How can I check if my PC has a BIOS updater? (it's only 1 year old), and is this process entirely automatic?

Sorry, stupid question again but my PC is running XP Pro with the 1 DVD-RW drive. According to the ASUSTek website all the examples quoted (that I've seen, there may be more) involve either downloading the BIOS update and booting from a floppy, or installing a prog to run in DOS to update BIOS or check for updates. I've downloaded the program for the latter but can't seem to get it to work at all.
