Does anyone know how I can install a BIOS update on a Pavilion 6835 running XP? The only instructions I can find require me to be in true DOS mode and that's not possible (as far as I know) in XP.

hp pavilion PC model 6835 (US/CAN)
drivers and downloads for American English

choose software language

BIOS when new software is available
description date rev size
the following are single file downloads
HP Pavilion Cognac BIOS Update 09/04/01 3.03 333.5 KB
HP Pavilion Cognac BIOS Update 09/04/01 2.09 310.5 KB

This does not pertain to your HP but is on Win 2000........ for an example only:

Thanks SavvyLady but I have already been to HP site and downloaded the HP update. But the instructions assume you are still in ME or 2000. I have aready upgraded to xp. The instrcutions from HP tell you to boot into DOS etc. and I can't do that in XP. Looking for another solution for everyone who loaded XP before they saw the update for bios.

OK, Thanks again. Looks a little intimidating. I'll do it tho. (Since everything works as is, i'll approach it slowly).
