I have Windows Me. I have experienced major problems when trying to install any updated programs, such as Internet Explorer 6 or Norton Antivirus 2005. With both of these, the download and installation appears to progress normally. . .until reboot. Then, the setup screen tells me that files cannot be updated. When trying to get NAV to operate, I used tech support with both Dell and Norton. Each blamed the other for the problems. I finally had to reinstall my original versions of both programs (Norton and Explorer). Can anyone explain this?

If I'm correct, Windows ME has a bug that requires you to upgrade to MIE 5.5 SP2 before you can upgrade to MIE 6.0 SP1.

From my experience, Norton and McAfee are problematic with a lot of computer users.
