Upgrade Advice

    Hi, i am new here and new to upgrading my pc.

    My problem is my pc, i run a:

    eMachines EL1300G-01w Desktop PC
    AMD Athlon 2650e 1.6GHz
    2GB DDR2 160GB SATA II
    DVDRW
    Windows Vista Home Basic
    White

    I can run games on it, low graphics though.

    I want to upgrade my PC, as the recent influx of good looking games temp me.
    So i need help.
    I found a processor, Graphics card.
    AMD Athlon 64 X2 5600+ 2.8 GHz Dual-Core (ADA5600IAA6CZ) Processor
    GeForce 8800 GT 256MB
    Will this work?

    And ram, what should i buy?
    I don't wish to spend a lot so please help

    You would be better off saving your money to buy a new computer. By the time you upgrade that computer you will have more invested in it than what it cost new. You would also need to have a quality Power supply added to your list as this is the most important part of any computer.

    Agreed, what you currently have is a basic system with no real upgrade path, its the wrong system for your needs.

    For starters you;d need a new case and power supply to allow any gaming graphics card to even fit and be powered. You'd also need a better processor and the one you listed isn't likely compatible, it draws significantly more power and generated a lot more heat then your current processor. And more memory as well.

    Also the 8800GT 256MB is pretty much an obsolete card, it won't handle modern games very well.

    You really can't upgrade that system. You might be able to jump the processor a little and throw on 4GB of RAM, but not the graphics card since it only has a single x1 PCI-e slot.

    After looking at the mainboard on Google, I've seen worse.. but this board has been severely neutered.

    I really would like to run games at high settings, such as
    Trainz 2012, Napolean total warm
