It won't be there as it doesn't actually get installed. It will be wherever your downloads go such as the desktop or the downloads folder.

It could be a security program is interfering or try right-clicking the utility and selecting "run as Adminsitrator".

Hello, here is alternative solution to share system information...

1. Click on Windows button
2. Type msinfo32 on your keyboard
3. Right click on "System Information" and Run as Administrator
4. If asked for password enter your password and click OK
5. Click on: File -> Save...
6. Save the file to C:\ root drive
8. Zip up this file and attach to your reply

For more information about msinfo32 tool see link below:

I need to upgrade my security and currently run the AGV free anti-virus on my laptop. This tells me that I have no firewall operating and potentially open to malware etc. They want to charge me for this and I don't mind paying. I have looked on the net and there are some free ones which are supposed to be better than AVG according to write ups. I need to get up to speed with this as I have just purchased a new phone so I can download my banking app, worried about hackers. Can anyone point me in the right direction as I need to educate myself in order to stay safe on the laptop and phone. Thanks.
Check test results from AV-Comparatives (mentioned earlier) and others. Here's one link to consider (sort by value):

https://www.av-comparatives.org/comparison/

You will probably consider the ones with the highest percentage blocked but also low false positives. AVG does well, together with Avast (which owns AVG), Kaspersky, and others.

In general, I see Kaspersky getting high scores in many tests.

I'm wondering why when I go to downloads to the tsginfo.exe that when I open it there's no instructions to run the program, just the text??

Because there are no instructions. All you do is run it by double-clicking it.

I suspect a security program is interfering.

I think you are right. I've doubled clicked right & left on the mouse one of them opens a window to run as admin and click on yes and it takes me right back to tsginfo prog with original text and no data. Any ideas?

Try temporarily disabling AVG but make sure you are disconnected from the Internet first and then see if it will run properly. Remember to turn AVG back on right after and before going back on the Internet.

I forgot to add that you can also do simple tests using free versions of programs like NovaBench to see the impact of AVs. Results vary across time and machines. In my case, the lightest are free versions of Avast and AVG.

Hey, Bitdefender Free is very light on system recourses, but AV is probably not your real problem.
