My current system has XP Home and I would like to upgrade to XP Pro. My question is, does it take a special upgrade cd or can any OS cd work. My current cd is XP Pro w/SP2.

    Thanks,
    Hammer

Pro should work fine. Start it from Windows and choose the upgrade option.

There is little, if any, difference between "Home" and "Pro" for the average user. Perhaps you have good reason for upgrading, but, if not, look into the differences to be sure they warrant the extra $.

My wife works from home part of the week and needs to access her work computer. The IT guy says we need XP Pro to do so. She's been doing this for years but now they just changed business software.
