Hi.I have just checked the system requirements for an upgrade to xp and it says i need a processer with upwards of 300Mhz or higher(i have 900Mhz).but then it says:233-MHz minimum required;what does that mean?I have 100Mhz.Does that mean i cannot upgrade?

So what exactly is the speed of your processor? 900Mhz or 100Mhz? Are you perhaps referring to a bus speed of 100Mhz? Windows XP requires a minimum processor speed of 233Mhz, but Microsoft recommends using a processor with a speed of at least 300Mhz.

my processor is 900Mhz...This is what i read on the microsoft site as a requirement for xp home edition:pC with 300 megahertz (MHz) or higher processor clock speed recommended; 233-MHz minimum required;* Intel Pentium/Celeron family, AMD K6/Athlon/Duron family, or compatible processor recommended ....it is the 233-MHz tht confuses me...

What about it confuses you? That's the MINIMUM processor speed for Windows XP. If you have a 900Mhz processor, that exceeds BOTH the recommended speed of 300Mhz and the minimum speed of 233Mhz.
