I have an HP Pavillon A610n with an AMD Athalon XP300 2.10GHz processor and 512 MB RAM .

I want to replace/upgrade the mother-board to Pentium 4 technology and also add a high end video graphics card. Is this possible? I am running windows xp and do not want to change my hard drive or any of the applications I have.

Probably not. Way too many hardware changes for XP to allow it without reload of OpSys

How would I re-load the Ops Sys? Could I just add the graphics card and improve gaming performance??

According to the specs at HP, your mobo supports 8x AGP card. You are probably running on the Integrated video. AGP video is much better than the integrated chip. It would also support another 512 mg of memory. Again according to their specs, it has pc 2700 in it.

(Reload OpSys.==Re-install windows and all drivers necessary for new motherboard.)
