Upgrading ram:

    How do i make windows recognise 512megs of ddr ram, when i install it.

    At the moment ive got 256megs sd ram:

    ive seen a fix on this site but cant fined it::;)

    :(

    I don't know of any motherboard that will allow you to have both type of RAM, it's usually one or the other

    You will certainly need to remove the SD RAM in order the DDR RAM to be recognised

    Ditto here, it's one type or another, not both.........just because there are 4 slots total doesn't mean you can fill them all ;)

    Yeap i now i can only have one type, but ive been told windows will only see 256megs, im going to take my two sticks of 256megs of dr ram out and put the 512megs of ddr in, so i need a fix for the 512megs please...

    !!

    Im running windows me and the max for my ram is 1 gig..

    Its one stick and ile get it tomorrow, one stick of 512megs ddr..

    Then, I don't get the question.......how do you know it's not going to be recognized??????????? Maybe I'm just missing something and need my second diet coke this morning :confused:

    Ok Ive seen on other forums where (windows me) will not recognise more than 256megs, ive been looking around but cant fined the link for the fix, that will make windows recognise the 512megs, being it ddr or sd ram...

    I think you may have been thinking of M$KB 184447 but this only applies to 95 & 98
