I have a 200G storage plan w/Google, and I'm already close to capacity. The overwhelming majority of this is in images/videos. My understanding is that I could instead upload the images to Google Photos, which is unlimited (?), and thus save a ton of GD space (I'd rather not have to pay an additional $7/month to up my capacity.) However, it seems that I can only upload one image(???) at a time, so I must be doing something radically wrong.....can someone guide me in uploading folders of images to Google Photos? Or, straighten me out on my understanding of how to use Google Photos to best advantage? Thanks!

As a compressed file. If you save as native...then it goes against your storage.

As I see it....you'd be better served with upgrading your storage capacity. Otherwise get a portable HDD (2TB) and download your over flow to that device. Personally I do both....I have a HDD copy and a cloud copy and been thinking about going with a DVD copy as well (just for photo/videos).

Thanks for that.....good to know. Yeah, I don't want massive zipped image files....I want to be able to just click on a photo, bam.......so I guess I'll just get the increased storage. And like you, I have everything backed up all over the place.....on external drives, on GD.....photos (especially all the old family stuff) are probably the one thing it would be catastrophic/heartbreaking to lose.
