I have this huge problem. I am trying to back up some dvds in my collection and keep getting bad disc burns! I have gone through about 6 or 7 bad dvd burns to my 4 or 5 correct burns. I am using shrink dvd 3.2 and creating an iso with the file. I have no problem making an ISO of the origonal DVD movie. My problem is when I run nero dvd image burner. I starts the lead in process and soon fails. This is odd because it freezes Nero and continues to burn some of this disc. Finally the disc comes out and I get a dvd that might as well be used to set a cup on. I am going to list the programs I'm using and my system specs below. Please anyone let me know if you have seen this problem or if you can help!!!!!!!!!! Thank You - Nate

Let DVD Shrink do all the converting AND burning for you,its a lot easier,it uses Nero`s engine to burn the disk....it should be a piece of cake. And as long as you keep this thread about "Backing up" the DVD`s you actually own then its within our forum rules.

Thanks for the input, I'm going to try it out and see if it works. I noticed DVD Shrink had the burn function, I just wasnt aware if it was any good.

however do be aware that many dvd's just CANNOT be succcessfuly copied/backed up or burned as the copy protection prevents that and we will not advise or discuss how to get round that

However with the sort of errors you seem to be getting I suspect a p[ossibility taht either bad media or tryiung to burn too fast might be part of the cause

Buying cheap dvd's to burn onto can cause those errors as I have found ouyt to my cost and it works out cheaper to buy quality burn media as I don't make so many coasters ( dvd or cdrw)

These files are memorex dvds and tried burning at all speeds. I have no problem with any coding because I have purchased AnyDVD. I have tried the burn using just the Shrink DVD program. This seems to work so far. Only time can tell. Thanks everyone!
