The captain of the submarine will probably lose his command as a result of the incident.

He should be relieved of command.

Maybe...? If it is determined to be his fault. This is one thing I have never liked about the Military chain of command. The captain may have been below and in his rack. He can not be on the bridge 24/7.

IMO the senior officer on watch should be held accountable, but that is not the way it works in the Military and especially in the Navy. Anything that happens on that ship falls right back to the C.O. :( I understand it in one way, but in reality it just isn't right.

At least this looks to be a very minor collision.
