My MB complies with USB 1 and I would like to upgrade to USB 2. Are there controllers I can install to upgrade or do I have to get a USB 2 compliant MB?

Bit short on details about what you have in the way of hardware (laptop or desktop, version of Windows etc)

But for later systems you can get cheap PCI internal cards for USB 2.0

Guees this is a good place to post this because I am asking the same thing but want to ask more that should help me and others out wanting to upgrade USB 1 to USB 2.

Ok I got USB 1 and there are two slots on the back and they are part of the motherboard.
Then there are two more up from on the side of the case.

So if I put in a new USB 2 card can you make use of the other USB 1 plugs with a jumper. The one on the side front looks like it is getting the USB from the mother board so really it is just the USB plugs. Be nice to have them as USB 2 but don't now how easy it would be if I had to replace the plugs there because they were made to fit the case.

Thanks guys.
I know I can also get to go into the base of my ViewSonic a USB Hub. Has a part I remove so it sits in there but I think that would be to hard to get to because I have a small desk and everything it up next to everything else already.
But maybe I should see about that too. I mean I don't know how it hooks up to the PC so if it comes with a card too then I could get everything together.

Exactly, except this one has USB and Firewire.
I'm not sure I see your point. Having four USB ports and two Firewire ports can only be a plus, and the card is only $14.95. Are you saying this is a bad thing?
