I 've been having a strange problem when connecting USB devices. The first device was a Logitech VX Revolution mouse. When connecting the mouse dongle, Windows would detect the device, bring up the device installation wizard, then throw the error "Cannot install this hardware. There was a problem installing this hardware . An error occurred during the installation of the device. Fatal error during the installation."

The same error is thrown when I connect my Motorola RAZR phone.

I'm also experiencing other problems related to external USB drives but I'll save that for another discussion, although they started happening at the same time.

System is a Dell Latitude D600, 2GM RAM, XP Pro SP2.

    Thanks,
    Jon
