    XP Pro SP3. Dell Desktop

I bought a USB graphics card so I could use extended screen. The USB card installed great, works great, but it constantly crashes. Unplug and replug restores extended screen until next time.

I seem to know when it's going to happen because it's when the desktop gets lively and starts thrashing as if it's indexing or similiar. maybe just coincidence.

No guarantee that I will have an answer but it might make it a whole lot easier for someone to assist you if you told us the brand and model number of the USB video card.

Did you check if the USB device manufacturer has a web site that may offer any kind of updated drivers for the device?
