USB Hard Drive

    OK, I purchased a 100 gb hard drive with a USB connection. my system says it is working fine, BUT how do I get to it !!! It doesn't show up under "My Computer" so where do I find it. :eek: :eek: :eek:

    I found out what I needed to know by useing the search option, sorry that is what I should have done FIRST. :D :D Thanks for the use of the site.

    Ok, so tell the rest of us how to do it. I’m thinking of getting a USB drive too and may have the same problem, but may not be as clever as you to find the answer!

    When you plug the USB drive into the computer it should show up in Explorer with the next available drive letter. Then you can use it just like a regular hard drive. You can partition it if you choose (more drive letters). I've got two 80GB HDs running on USB2 and they work great. Use them for backup and storing downloads and graphics that get shared on a network.
