USB icon gone from taskbar

    A small but annoying prob. Used to be able to stop/eject my USB from the task bar, but now need to go into My Computer to eject it. How do I get the computer to visible show (on the taskbar) that its connected? Muusclan

    Hi Muusclan,

    Try these steps:

    Go to the control panel, then 'taskbar and start menu'. There will be an option 'customize' under the taskbar tab, click on customize, scroll and you may find “Safely Remove Hardware” icon.

    Click on that and select 'Always Show' as behavior. Press Ok, Then Ok again. You may have to reboot.

    If this does not work, then you may want to try this:
