    will plugging a usb flash drive into your tv fry it?

    Fry what? The TV or the flash drive? Either way, what is it you're actually trying to do? There shouldn't be any particular reason for such a mishap.

    The USB ports on a TV are usually used for media ie viewing photos, listening to music, watching a film that's on the flash drive or updating the telly.

    If the TV has a usb port ... NO .. I do it all the time.
    I'd rather watch a high definition movie from a flash drive - Than a low resolution obsolete DVD.
    Pictures are also better on a big screen.
