I have an Abit KT7-RAID motherboard and an external Alcatel modem for my dsl line. After being on the internet a few hours, the USB port suddenly loses power and, to get it working again, I have to completely reboot. This is frustrating when in the middle of work or talking with someone. Please help!

To rule it out I would try a different cable from pc to modem. A bad connection/wire could appear to make the power disappear.
Some microsoft usb mice exhibit this due to a bad wire or connection internally
