My wireless mouse is not showing up in My Computer or in Device Manager even though other USB devices do show up. I even uninstalled and reinstalled all my USB Root Hubs. and when I plug it in it says 'Found new hardware: HID device...Have went through the usuall fixes as in drivers and such, im just really stumped. also I have used multiple mice and even used the ps2 port to see if it was only USB related. I have no other idea and was hoping my first visit to your forums will lead to success

Easiest thing is to try the wireless mouse on a different computer. If it dont work, its hosed. If it does, roll up your sleeves.

You said you have connected other mice to the problem PC.

When you connect these other mice, do they work on the problem PC?

Have you tried both USB and PS2 mice?

    -------------------------------------------------------------------

As for this being a "very good and responsive forum", it is.

But it is also a 100% volunteer forum. Everyone on this site has their own jobs, families, friends, and lives.

If after 24 hours no one has responded to your latest post, then you can "bump" your thread.

But there is no need to post 3 times within a 3 hour period.

Do you have your Windows XP Installation CD?

Then bump all you like, but anyone subscribed to the thread will only receive 1 notification anyway and an admin or moderator will be alerted of your behavior and close the thread.

We have rules and guidelines here for a reason. If you don't want to follow them, this is not the site for you.

Interesting how the lack of one letter in a sentence can change the entire message.

I've asked that someone more knowledgeable than myself in this area check this thread out.

    Good luck. (y)

When did you last do channel-matching between the mouse and the receiver? Please do it again now.

Are there any unidentified devices in Device Manager, or any listed under "Other", or any that need a driver?

Have you used any "cleaners" or other tools on the machine to make it "faster", "better", or anything like that?

I have gotten to the point where im using a hardline mouse aka no dongle to connect(as to eliminate any issues with connectivity) also all drivers are updated and working. I have went through the uninstall of the drivers and re-installed it. it will show up after a long period of time but the mouse will not move or respond at all...im very perplexed by this as I consider myself above average with PC's. Also this issue is related to the customer having their power shut off and not getting the PC shut down if this helps

Have you matched the channel when the mouse shows up but won't move?
