USB ports not working ;o(

    Hi All im new to this forum. I have been searching the net for a solution to my usb port problem. They just stopped working all of a sudden i have even restored my system to factory default with a recovery disk set and they still wont work.

    I have a external hd 80gb which when plugged in to either ports lights up an sounds like itsd running but computer cannot seem to find it nor any other device used.
    PLEASE HELP

    Try this reg fix

    Restore USB Service

    Save the file to desktop
    Double click the file
    You will get a message Do you want to merge this file say Yes

    Restart your PC after

    Still no joy with the registry thing either guys. any other ideas please post.
