Just got PC back after 'friend' rebuilt/upgraded it!!
The USB's do not appear to be working, if I plug a Belkin USB 4 port hub in them the red power light works, but when I plug printer etc in ..nothing.
I have tried with & without hub.
    OS is XP
I am pretty inexperienced at all this..any advice???

First of all, are the printer drivers loaded? This could be the problem, scince you say the red light goes on. Also, update the USB drivers. You can find out what type of USB drivers you need by right clicking My Computer, going to properties, and then Clicking on the Hardware tab. Then click on Device manager. Go down to USB, and see what type. Then go to www.driverguide.com and download the correct drivers. Hope your problem is fixed!
