used pc erase all but OS?

    I bought a used PC as I am sure many have, it had WinXPpro on it allready. It has a 40 gb harddrive that is almost full. Is there anyway to delete everything on it but the operating system? It came with the serial number for xp but not the disk.

    jeff: you can go into Control Panel>Add/Remove and Uninstall all the programs. Do not just delete them.
    Then go to My Documents and delete all the documents, pictures, music, videos, etc., if nothing is in there that you want.

    Of course.. go to Control Panel/Add Remove programs and remove any programs you have no use for. And as Flags suggested clear all the documents.. Then when you have that done clear all temp files and defragment the hard drive.. You should have lots of free space then and ready to go.. Good Luck
