When starting up I get a message that one or more programmes need my permission to continue - one is Sound Flow from Sony - is there a way to stop getting these messages.

I'm assuming your using Vista. If so disable the User Account Control.

Open the Start Menu & type user account control into the search box at the bottom. Click on the UAC link that appears. Uncheck 'Use User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer'. Click OK. Reboot.

I will assume you are actually using Vista even though you posted in the XP/2000 forum.
If it is an older application it is probably not UAC aware. See if there is an update to the software for Vista.

You can turn off UAC but I don't recommend it.
