I have an HP Pavilion with windows 7.
When the user account screen comes up for you to log in on your account, under mine it says "locked".
Why does it say that and how can I change that setting to unlocked.

My account is the only one on the computer and we all just use that one, so there are no other accounts on the pc.

I am sure we are not allowed to help people get around passwords.

No, you're not. But this does not involve passwords, anyway. Why would you think it did?

Enter your password and unlock it. It is normal after a time-out or after returning from a screensaver or low-power mode. Change the settings for the saver and power options if you don't want it to lock. But that means anyone coming along has access to your stuff right away.

I don't have a password on this account. I can click on my name and the desktop comes up, but I was just wondering why it says locked and if that has anything to do with not being able to install the software for my printer. (That is being discussed on another thread).

Is there a screen save set to lock the computer?
