Hey folks. I am having some difficulties finding out anything about some errors I have been getting.

I keep getting "user.exe" errors from both Netscape and Internet Explorer. They usually happen when coming back from a screen saver mode or after viewing a page for a while and then going to another page (before the screen saver appears).

I can't seem to find out even WHAT "user.exe" means.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks all. :)

Could you post the entire error message. It may help. :)

    Hi DoyceJ. Thanks for responding.

The message only says: Explorer caused user.exe error. The program will now shut down. (When it is a Netscape error it says the same, but with Netscape in place of Explorer.)

There isn't a "Details" button, only an "OK" button which then shuts down the program.

    (I'm just a fountain of information, ain't I?) ;)

    Thanks.

 Oops. Forgot to mention that when the error occurs and the program shuts down, I am usually able to go right back to Netscape or IE, but all except 2 of my icons on the bottom tool bar have disappeared (printer, scanner, sound and 3 or 4 more). I have to reboot to get them back.

    Does that help at all?

Ah, technology. A love and hate relationship. :)

    Thanks.

Have you cleaned your history, temps and ran scandisc and defrag?

Is this a new screensaver? Try disabling it and see if you still receive any error.

    Hi again.

I regularly clear History, Temp Folders, run Scan Disk and do a Defrag. This is not a new screen saver, just the same old "3D Text" as usual.

I will try another defrag and such. I changed to a different screen saver before shutting down last night, so we'll see how it goes.

    Thanks for your help. :D
