    Can anyone help me, i have just tried installing windows 2000, but have encountered some problems. after the set up process i get a message reading Bad Image Checksum user32.dll, the header does checksum does not match the computed checksum. i have tried everthing: reinstalling 98, then upgrading to 2000; replacing the dll file using dos commands according to

    did you install 2000 by just using the bootable cd, or did you use the 4 setup disks first?

    sometimes using the four set up disks make installing better.

    Have you tried a clean install? You can do that with an upgrade CD. It’ll ask you for confirmation of the other OS, so just remove the 2000 CD and insert the 98 CD to confirm ownership. Give that a try and post back.
