Windows XP acts as if all mice attached to it are one single mouse. I'd like XP to recognize that I have more than one attached, so I can use more than two (three with the wheel) axes, and more than two buttons.

Is there any sort of software or option or anything that can recognize this?

On that note, is there any way to allow for a second keyboard focus?

The idea for these came from a pair-programming assignment for my CS class. We're trying to work on the same computer with different monitors, keyboards, and mice, but the same computer.
