Ok, first post...im dying here! Im using Outlook 2007 on Vista. When I tried opening Outlookm got this message:

Errors have been detected in your blabla.PST file, use the Inbox repair tool (Scanpst.exe) to diagnose and repair.

I found the tool (that took a while), and moved my PST file to my desktop to make it easier to work with (MS buries it deep, deep). The file is only 400Mb. When I scan it with SCNPST it goes over 6 of the 8 steps and then stops with this message:

An error has occurred that caused the scan to be stopped. No changes have been made to the scanned file.

Ive re-scanned it several times, but it always stops after the 6th. I tried to open Outlook, and it tells me the same initial message. HELP! All my emails and contacts are there, and i have some recruiters waiting for my reply. Thanks in advance for any help.

Sounds like your .pst is corrupt beyond the repair capabilities of SCNPST. There are other utilites out there but they are not free.
