 I often play tcp/ip games on my 2 computers. I recently upgraded the faster one to winXP, the slower still has win98se. It seems that since i have upgraded i havent been able to play games this way(although it did work one night).

I am also having troubles with mIRC on the slower machine. I have used this machine, and this mIRC client for years and out of the blue i cant DCC files with it. (i use the other machine to chat with only) ...... could winxp be causing these problems? Its winxp sp2, on a home network.... 2 puters connected to a HUB (not router), connected to the modem.(cable modem)

    Any ideas?

I've now attempted 6 to 8 readings of your message to figure out A) what configuration you have and B) what problems you are having. The only things that are clear to me are: You have two machines, one running XP the other running 98, you have a cable modem and a hub hanging off that to which your machines are connected. And you use IRC. The rest of it is gibberish to me.

Please clarify the symptoms of the problems you are experiencing as well as any troubleshooting steps you've attempted, and the results of those tests.
